| My friends consider me to be an outgoing, honest, trust-worth, easy-going, adaptable, and a non-judgmental type of person. I consider myself to be kind, compassionate, loyal, affectionate, sensitive, romantic and a thoughtful family orientated sort of person, with a well-developed sense of humor. I enjoy holding hands and cuddle with my favorite gal, and am definitely a hopeless romantic at heart. I can be serious when required, and I'm not afraid of commitment, or hard work when it is called for. I enjoy reading, music, dancing, good food and wine, swimming, bicycling, walks in the park (with my special soul-mate), pets (I once raised pure breed Afghan Hounds and one of my most all-time favorite dogs is a cocker spaniel of which I currently have two), gardening, working with my hands (ie. house repairs and carpentry), and the outdoors. I have an inbred sense of adventure and am almost always open to trying new things, and experiences. I'm a country boy at heart having grown-up in a small Ottawa valley town, and while I now reside in the city, I have spent a good deal of my adult life living in rural areas in an agricultural setting. I am a publish author, having written and publish four non-fiction books in my younger adult years. One on basic dog care, two on genealogy (one of which has in the past been used as a college course text(a copy of which is held in the National Library & Archives of Canada), and one on historical Inuit culture and society. In the past, I have traveled widely, much of it in connection with my previous employment, including working trips to Europe ... France, Holland, Germany and Austria, as well as Asia, and South America. I have also spent considerable time working, living, studying, and traveling in the United States. I enjoy cooking, as well as work in my garden. I am currently involved in volunteering in local community television, which I have been doing off-and-on for a number of years. And, I'm also actively involved in a men's fraternal order and my church. While I may be considered almost a "senior" by some, I look feel, and think as though I was 10 to 15 years younger. Having long-ago left my former common-law relationship behind me, I no-longer have any emotional baggage or hang-ups and do not have time to play head games. I am a man who is both honest, sincere, and faithful and I am looking for the same in my potential soul mate. I miss being call "sweetheart" etc. by the special lady in my life! |
